🔸 Job Title: Nursing Activity Manager (NAM)

As a Nursing Activity Manager, you’ll lead and coordinate nursing services in the Abdurafi/Midr Genet Health Center, with a special focus on Kala Azar and snakebite care, which mainly affects migrant workers living in exposed, high-risk environments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead, organize, and manage all nursing activities (IPD, OPD, maternity, nutrition, etc.).

  • Implement MSF nursing protocols and ensure quality, patient-centered care.

  • Supervise the nursing team, ensuring IPC (Infection Prevention & Control) and PCC (Patient-Centered Care) standards.

  • Coordinate medical supply management with the pharmacist and logistics.

  • Provide on-the-job training and capacity building for staff and local partners (RHB).

  • Support referrals and follow-up for complicated cases.

  • Engage in emergency preparedness and humanitarian assessments.

  • Ensure data collection and contribute to monthly reports and surveillance systems.


🎯 Project Focus Areas:

  • Provide free, quality care for patients affected by Kala Azar and snakebites.

  • Monitor and respond to acute humanitarian medical needs in the Amhara region.

  • Strengthen decentralized care in Humera, Abrajira, and Metema.

  • Contribute to operational research and policy advocacy using collected data.


Qualifications Required:

Education:

  • Essential: Diploma in General Nursing or specialized health services.

  • Desirable: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or training in tropical medicine.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in nursing-related roles.

  • Previous MSF or NGO experience in developing countries is a strong advantage.

  • Experience with NTDs like Kala Azar and Snakebite, plus TB, HIV, or palliative care is essential.

  • Leadership or senior nursing management background preferred.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required.

  • Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong people management and planning skills.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Behavioral flexibility, team spirit, and result-oriented mindset.

  • Remuneration & Benefits:

    • Salary: As per MSF-Holland’s salary scale.

    • Additional: 30% hardship allowance.
