🩺 Position Summary

MSF is hiring a Medical Doctor to support outpatient and inpatient care delivery, following updated medical knowledge, humanitarian protocols, and universal hygiene standards. The role includes participation in clinical care, emergency responses, and supervision of health team members in Korem and its surrounding areas.

✅ Key Duties

• Deliver medical consultations and treatments according to MSF guidelines

• Monitor patient progress and determine treatment outcomes or discharge

• Counsel patients and families about conditions and medications

• Maintain hygiene, infection control, and equipment safety

• Assist in emergency responses and patient referrals

• Participate in team supervision, training, and daily staff scheduling

• Support epidemiological data reporting and analysis

🏥 Context

Since March 2023, MSF has been supporting Korem General Hospital and surrounding health posts. Services include emergency response, pediatric and neonatal care, treatment of malnutrition, CEmONC services, and mobile clinic outreach to conflict-affected areas. In 2025, MSF aims to strengthen fixed support to 4 health centers and improve access to quality healthcare.

👩‍⚕️ Who Should Apply?

Required:

• MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree

• At least 2 years of clinical experience

Preferred:

• Background in pediatrics, gynecology, tropical medicine, infectious disease, HIV/AIDS, TB, or minor surgery

• Diploma in Tropical Medicine

Skills:

• Strong communication and teamwork

• Commitment to MSF principles and medical ethics

• Willingness to rotate across hospital departments
