Currently, REACH Ethiopia is working in partnership with USAID and MSH to implement the USAID Eliminate TB Project, aiming to reduce TB incidence and mortality by improving access to and the quality of TB services in urban and rural communities across Ethiopia.


🎯 Position Summary: Regional Project and Community TB Coordinator

As part of the USAID Eliminate TB Project, the Regional Project and Community TB Coordinator will lead and oversee the planning and execution of all Community-Based TB Care (CBTBC) activities across project areas in Sidama, SNNP, and Central Ethiopia.

The position requires strong leadership, coordination, and technical skills to manage the regional project effectively, supervise community health teams, and ensure that TB care delivery is aligned with national strategies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee community-based TB services across assigned zones and woredas.

  • Provide technical support and mentorship to zonal and woreda TB officers and community health workers.

  • Facilitate capacity building for Health Extension Professionals (HEP), Women’s Development Army (WDA), and community volunteers.

  • Lead implementation of:

    • TB case finding

    • Contact tracing

    • Screening and referral

    • TB treatment adherence monitoring

    • TB Preventive Therapy (TPT)

  • Build strong partnerships with regional health bureaus, health offices, and local community organizations.

  • Monitor performance and conduct regular evaluations of community-level TB interventions.

  • Support communication efforts including community awareness, media outreach, and local engagement, as directed.

  • Ensure compliance with project guidelines, performance standards, and reporting requirements.

  • Use technology tools like video conferencing and digital monitoring systems to support efficient communication and supervision.


📊 Reporting Line

This position reports directly to the Technical Director and works closely with the project coordinator and other regional staff.


👩‍🎓 Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree in Public Health, Health Science, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in TB programs or public health project coordination.

  • Strong knowledge of community health systems, especially HEP, WDA, and volunteer networks.

  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working with government health offices, NGOs, and donor-funded projects is highly desirable.

  • Proficient in using digital tools for reporting, training, and communication.
