📍 ALIMA in Ethiopia

ALIMA began operating in Ethiopia in 2022, responding to health crises in Somali and Tigray regions caused by conflict and climate shocks. It has provided emergency health care, nutrition support, and maternal services, while strengthening local health systems and partnering with national stakeholders.

👩‍⚕️ Position: MHNT Midwife (Mobile Health and Nutrition Team)

Reports to: Midwife Supervisor
Duty Station: Elkare Woreda, Afder Zone, Somali Region
Contract Type: Full-time, field-based
Protection Level: Level 3 – working directly with children and vulnerable populations

💼 Key Responsibilities

• Provide obstetric care including antenatal, delivery, and postnatal services.

• Ensure quality maternal and newborn care according to national and ALIMA protocols.

• Support sexual and reproductive health services including BEmONC, safe abortion care, family planning, and management of sexual violence cases.

• Refer complicated cases and ensure timely response during emergencies.

• Train and support Health Extension Workers (HEWs), NEHs, CHWs, and local health staff.

• Manage and maintain medical equipment and SRH-related supplies.

• Promote hygiene, infection prevention, and patient confidentiality.

• Strengthen referral systems and coordinate activities with community leaders and health facilities.

• MHNT Nurse

• MHPSS, OPD, IPD Supervisors

• Logistic and Health Center staff

• Community health workers and local volunteers
