🩺 Job Summary
The Public Health Promoter (PHP) Officer will lead health and hygiene promotion efforts in crisis-affected communities, particularly under the “Women at the Center” project funded by Global Affairs Canada through Oxfam. You’ll engage directly with communities, organize training, and support behavioral change interventions.
🧾 Key Responsibilities
🛠️ Program Implementation

Coordinate community mobilization and hygiene promotion activities

Develop and distribute culturally appropriate IEC materials
-
Organize training for volunteers, health workers, and local leaders
-
Monitor water quality and oversee NFI distribution
🤝 Coordination & Networking
-
Work closely with WASH, protection, and government teams
-
Represent WE-Action in community forums and partner coordination meetings
📈 Monitoring & Evaluation

Lead hygiene assessments and supervise data collection
-
Contribute to reporting, learning sessions, and proposal writing

Ensure community feedback is integrated into program improvement
🏗️ Operational & Capacity Building

Support local staff and community workers with coaching and technical support

Conduct regular field visits and evaluations

Promote gender-responsive and inclusive program strategies
🧑 About You
✅ Qualifications

Education: MSc in Public Health or BSc in Environmental Health Science, Public Health, or related fields

Experience: Minimum 5 years in community-based public health or hygiene promotion programs
🧠 Skills & Competencies

Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills

Hands-on experience in AWD preparedness and hygiene campaigns

Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
-
Gender-sensitive and ethical with a commitment to safeguarding policies

Project and data management experience preferred
