🩺 Vacancy: Nursing Activity Manager

Organization: Médecins Sans Frontières - Belgium (MSF-Belgium)

MSF-Belgium is seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursing Activity Manager to oversee and coordinate all nursing and care-related services in its project locations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in strengthening healthcare delivery, ensuring protocol compliance, and building local capacity.


💼 Key Responsibilities

✅ 1. Nursing Care Coordination

  • Plan, supervise, and evaluate all nursing services including IPD, OPD, maternity, and nutrition.

  • Ensure adherence to MSF protocols and quality standards.

  • Oversee accurate patient documentation, discharge processes, and data collection.

✅ 2. Emergency Preparedness

  • Strengthen outbreak response capabilities and health worker training.

  • Implement Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans (EPREP).

  • Coordinate logistics for emergency medical supplies.

✅ 3. Pharmacy & Supplies Management

  • Monitor medical stock levels, expirations, and distributions.

  • Coordinate with biomedical teams for equipment maintenance.

  • Prepare emergency drug orders as needed.

✅ 4. Staff Supervision & Training

  • Conduct training in Patient Therapeutic Education (PTE), IPC, and emergency protocols.

  • Mentor local health staff and support professional growth into coordination roles.

✅ 5. Infection Prevention & Control (IPC)

  • Train community hygiene groups and monitor IPC compliance.

  • Support public health campaigns (e.g., cholera, scabies prevention).


🎯 Project Focus Areas

  • Supporting Adey Abeba & Jemu Health Centers (serving 18,000+ children under 15).

  • Key interventions: WASH, OPD service delivery, immunization, surveillance, and referrals to Bachuma Hospital.

  • Targeting sustainability through local health system strengthening and community capacity building.


👩‍⚕️ Required Qualifications & Skills

📚 Education:

  • Minimum: Diploma in General or Specialized Nursing (BSc preferred).

  • Additional training in tropical medicine is a plus.

📌 Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in nursing or healthcare-related roles.

  • Prior NGO experience (especially MSF) and background in IPC is an advantage.

📄 License:

  • Valid and renewed professional license is required.

💻 Technical Skills:

  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, internet navigation).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

🗣 Languages:

  • Required: Mission language and Oromiffaa.

  • Other local language skills are an asset.
