Job Vacancy: Medical Doctor – International Rescue Care (IRC-Ethiopia)

Job Summary:

IRC-Ethiopia is seeking a dedicated Medical Doctor to support our emergency health response team in Shire. The MD will oversee outpatient consultations, manage emergency cases, supervise health workers, and ensure the quality of care for internally displaced and host populations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical consultations and life-saving treatment at mobile and static clinics

  • Supervise and mentor nurses, midwives, and health extension workers

  • Support infection prevention and control (IPC) practices

  • Monitor disease outbreaks and report to the emergency coordinator

  • Coordinate referrals and maintain accurate records

  • Participate in training and capacity building sessions


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized university

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience, preferably in humanitarian or emergency settings

  • Valid medical license

  • Experience with malnutrition and infectious disease management preferred

  • Fluency in Amharic; Tigrigna is an asset

  • Strong team spirit, flexibility, and cultural sensitivity

Position: Nutrition Officer
Location: Sekota, Amhara Region

Concern Worldwide is a global NGO fighting hunger and malnutrition in the world’s most vulnerable communities. In Ethiopia, we focus on nutrition-sensitive programming to reduce undernutrition and improve maternal and child health.


Job Summary:

Concern Worldwide is looking for a Nutrition Officer to support CMAM (Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition) and IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding) activities in Sekota. The officer will work closely with health centers, local communities, and outreach teams to reduce malnutrition rates and improve feeding practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support OTP/SC sites and ensure quality CMAM implementation

  • Train and supervise HEWs and volunteers on nutrition screening

  • Monitor and report program performance and case trends

  • Provide community education on infant feeding and dietary diversity

  • Coordinate with WASH, food security, and health teams


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree/Diploma in Nutrition, Public Health, or related field

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in nutrition programs

  • Familiarity with CMAM, IYCF, and MUAC screening

  • Willingness to travel to remote areas

  • Good report writing and team collaboration skills

  • Proficiency in Amharic; local language is a plus
